To balance vour Speakers for
Surround Sound;
Use the TEST TONE function to set the correct
balance between the levels of the left, right, center,
and rear speakers in the Dolby ProLogic mode.
NOTES: Make sure your speaker Positioning is correct. For
details, see page 6. It is recommended to balance the Speakers at a
normal listening level
With the receiver on, press the TEST button on the
I front panel of your Receiver.
You will hear a test tone from the Front Left,
Center, Front Right and Left/Right Surround
Speakers, one by one, in a repeating cycle.
NOTE: You will not hear a test tone from the Subwoofer.

Adjust the sound level of each Speaker until they
all sound equally loud.
- Use the MASTER VOLUME knob to adjust
the Front Left and Right Speaker volume level
to a normal listening level.
- Use the BALANCE knob to equalize the Front
Left and Right Speaker levels.
- Adjust the Center Speaker sound level with the
CENTER LEVEL (+) or (-) buttons.
- The Surround Speakers sound level can be
adjusted with the SURROUND LEVEL (+)
or (-) buttons.
NOTE: The Equalizer, which appears in the Receiver’s display,
will show the loudness of each channel (Front Left and Right,
Center, and Surround Left and Right) when in the TEST mode.
When you are satisfied with the levels from each
Speaker, press the TUNING UP
(A)
button to turn
the tone off.
