Requirements
 Workstations of subscribers running Windows 98/ME, NT4.0, 2000/XP, MAC
OS9 or later, Linux, UNIX or other platform compatible with TCP/IP protocols.
 Workstation installed with Ethernet NIC (Network Interface Card)
 Ethernet Port connection
 Network cables - Use standard network (UTP) cables with RJ45 connectors.
 Above Workstation installed with WEB Browser and JAVA runtime
environment Plug-in
 Serial Port connection
 Above PC with COM Port (DB-9 / RS-232) or USB-to-RS-232 converter
NOTE: We recommended Internet Explore 6.0 or above to access the Managed
Switch.
Management Access Overview
The Managed Switch gives you the flexibility to access and manage it using any
or all of the following methods:
 Web browser interface
 An external SNMP-based network management application
 The Administration Console
The Administration Console and Web browser interface support are embedded in
the Managed Switch software and are available for immediate use. Each of these
management methods has their own advantages and disadvantages. Table 3-1
compares the three management methods.
