Before you call an engineer
if, contrary to expectation, you experience any difficuity in
operating this video recorder, it may be caused by one of the
reasons mentioned beiow. You can aiso cailthe customer
service in your country.
You wiii find the teiephone numbers in the enciosed guarantee
ieafiet.
The set does not respond to any button being pressed:
• No power supply.
• A programmed recording is currently being made.
• Child lock is active.
• Technical disturbance: disconnectfrom the mainsforSO sec­
onds, then re-connect. If this does not have any effect, you can:
1. Disconnectfrom mains.
2. Re-connect to mains whilst holding down the
I STANDBY (in button on the video recorder until the message
disappears from the display. All stored data will be reset
(cleared).
Cassette jammed:
• Don't use force. Pull outthe mains plug for a moment.
Remote control does not operate:
• Remote control not pointed toward the video recorder.
• Batteries are exhausted. Change batteries.
• Remote control command wrong. Read the paragraph 'Switching
remote control command'in chapter'ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS'.
No playback from video recorder:
• No recording on the cassette: Change cassette.
• The VCR programme number on the TV set was incorrectly
selected or incorrectly set: On the TV set, select the correct
programme number.
• The connecting cable between the TV set and the video recorder
has come loose; Check cable.
Poor playback from video recorder:
• TV set not properly adjusted.
• Cassette badly worn or of poor quality; Use new cassette.
• Tracking not properly adjusted, video heads dirty: Turn to
chapter 'PLAYBACK' and read the section 'Eliminating picture
interference'.
No recording possible:
• TV channel not stored or wrongly selected: CheckTV pro­
grammes stored.
• Cassette with erase protection has been loaded: Undo erase
protection.
Programmed recording does not function;
• TIMER not set properly: Check TIMER blocks.
• Time/date wrongly programmed: Check time/date.
• A cassette with erase protection has been loaded: Undo erase
protection.
• 'PDC' or 'VPS' switched on but 'PDCA/PS time' wrong: Enter
PDCA/PS time exactly to the minute. Check aerial.
Picture or sound interference on TV reception e.g. when
tuned to 'CH5':
• Turn to Chapter 5'ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS'and read in the
sections 'Poor TV reception - Optimize the modulator' and
'Switching off the modulator'.
• Have your aerial checked.
