CONNECTING THE VCR TO THE TV

Refer to these pages to help determine the best way to

connect the VCR to a TV, stereo, or cable box.

SELECTING JACKS AND CABLES

RF JACKS AND COAXIAL CABLES (F-TYPE)

The RF jacks provide good picture and mono sound

quality, and must be used if audio/video connections are

not available for your TV.

These jacks are required for antenna or cable-TV

connections. The RF jacks on the VCR are labeled ANT. IN

and RF OUT. The coaxial cable supplied with your VCR is

used to connect the VCR’s RF OUT jack and your TV's

antenna input.

AUDIO/VIDEO (A/V) JACKS AND CABLES (RCA-
TYPE)

AudioA/ideo jacks provide very good picture quality and

stereo sound, and can be used if your TV has

input

jacks. Generally, if AA/ jacks are used, a line INPUT

"channel" needs to be tuned to in order to see the picture.

section of this manual.

AA/ jacks can be used for most connections between

components. The VCR's A/V jacks are color coded (yellow

for video, red for RIGHT audio, and white for LEFT/MONO

audio). If your TV only has one input for audio, a Y*

adapter may be needed to hear sound from both the left

and right channels (the adapter will be plugged into the

VCR's LEFT audio out jack).
