All you do is point the camera and press the shutter button. Everything
is automatic so it is easy to photograph any subject. With seven AF
points to focus the subject, anyone can easily take nice pictures.

Set the Mode Dial to <
1>.

The AF mode will be set to

9>, the drive mode will be
set to <
u>, and the metering mode
will be set to <
q> automatically.

Aim any AF point over the
subject.

Out of the seven AF points, the one
covering the closest subject is
selected automatically to achieve
focus.

Focus the subject.

Press the shutter button halfway to focus.

The dot < . > inside the AF point achieving
focus flashes briefly in red. At the same
time, the beeper will sound and the focus
confirmation light <
o> will light.

The shutter speed and aperture value
will be set automatically and
displayed in the viewfinder and on the
LCD panel. (

If necessary, the built-in flash will pop-
up automatically.

Under low-light conditions, if the focus
cannot be achieved with the AF, AF-
