Multivapor™ Operation Manual, Version E
4 .12 High-boiling solvents - Woulff bottle (optional)
To prevent boiling retardation and for high-
boiling solvents which tend to condense in the
vacuum tube as well as for solvents which tend
to foam an optional solvent reservoir – the so-
called Woulff bottle – can be fixed at the rear of
the instrument. The vapor is then first transferred
from the cover to the bottle and then further to
the condenser assembly.

4 .13 Vacuum solution (optional)
Evaporation under vacuum is performed by
means of a vacuum pump. With the V-700 PTFE
diaphragm pump an ultimate vacuum of less
than 10 mbar is achieved, which is more than
sufficient for most applications.
Sophisticated vacuum control is gained using
the V-850 or V-855 controller. The latter includes
gradient functions, solvent libraries and auto-
matic vacuum control algorithms.
