Focusing

Two focusing systems are available to suit your

needs: autofocus and manual focus.

Autofocus

40-A

The camera enters autofocus mode as soon as
you turn the camera on. Focus adjusts

automatically to suit the subject located in the
centre of the viewfinder.
• The camera transmits infrared beams to the

subject and receives reflected beams at the
autofocus window to focus automatically.
When the subject is at a distance of
approximately 3* metres, focus is adjusted in
the centre of the viewfinder. For subject
distances greater than 3* metres, camera
focus point is slightly higher and to the left in
the viewfinder: for distances less than 3

metres, camera focus point is slightly lower
and to the right. For very close subjects at a
distance of less than approximately 1 metre,

this shift of focus becomes more obvious.

• For the E600, the distance is approximately

6 metres.

Notes for E600:

The shift of focus becomes more obvious at the

telephoto end. Infrared beams focus on a point
within circles which shift according to distance.

EtiHsi

• When shooting subjects at a distance of less than

approximately 1.5 metres at the telephoto end,
manual focus is recommended.
