Basic Operations

Using the Action Button

When the action button is pressed, either of the

foiiowing operations set in Assign action button of
the setup menu ([Xl94) can be performed.

• Dispiay maps.

• Perform the function by shaking the camera (action

controi).

Display map

Dispiay the current iocation on a map during shooting

(oniy when Record GPS data in GPS options of the

map menu

([X|86)

is set to On).

Dispiay the shooting iocation of an image on a map

during piayback (oniy images on which position

information is recorded).

Action control

As shown in the iiiustration, use your wrist and shake the camera for a singie

down or forward/backward stroke to perform the functions.

Action menu

in the action menu, you can seiect the foiiowing options by shaking the camera
up/down or forward/backward.

• Shooting mode: You can seiect the Easy auto mode. Auto mode. Beach,

Snow, Landscape and Underwater modes.

• Start movie recording: Press the action button to begin shooting. Press the

button again to exit shooting.

• Quick playback: Dispiay images in fuii-frame piayback mode.

• Current position: Dispiay the current iocation on a map (oniy when Record

GPS data in GPS options of the map menu

(DXl86)

is set to On).

Press the action button to seiect the function.

in Quick playback or fuii-frame piayback mode, shake the camera up/down to

dispiay the next image or forward/backward to dispiay the previous image.
