Notes on operating temperature and humidity and
condensation
The operation of this camera has been tested at temperatures from -10°C to +40°C
(14°Fto 104°F).
When you use the camera in coid ciimate regions, observe the foiiowing
precautions. Keep the camera and spare batteries in a warm piace before use.
• The performance of the batteries (number of pictures shot and shooting time) wiii
drop temporariiy.
• if the camera is in a very coid state, the performance may drop temporariiy, for
exampie, the monitor may be darker than normai immediateiy after the camera is
turned on or residuai images may be produced.
• When snoworwaterdropietsadhere to the exterior of the camera, immediateiy wipe
them off
- if the buttons or switches are frozen, they may not operate smoothiy.
- if the microphone or speaker openings are ciogged with water dropiets, the sound
may deteriorate or become distorted.
• Operating environmental conditions such as
temperature and humidity may cause fogging
(condensation) on the inside of the monitor or lens.
This is not the camera malfunction or defect.
• Environmental conditions that are likely to cause
condensation inside of the camera
Fogging (condensation) may occur on the inside of the monitor or lens in the
following environmental conditions where there are sharp tern parature changes or
high humidity.
• The camera is suddenly immersed in low temperature underwater from high
temperature on land.
• The camera is brought to a warm place such as inside a building from the cold climate
outside.
• The battery-chamber/memory card slot cover is opened or closed in a high-humidity
environment.
• Clearing the fogging
• Open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover after turning off the camera in a
place where the ambient temperature is stable (avoid any place that has high-
temperature/high-humidity, sand or dust).
To clear the fogging, remove the battery and memory card, and leave the camera with
the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover open to allow the camera to adjust to
the ambient temperature.
