7. Adjusting section.
① After turning the companion flange about 20 times you
can then check if the preload is within the appropriate
limits.
【Standard Torque Settings】
2.84～3.75N・m (0.29～0.38kgm)
Please adjust the settings while it is off.
② The Dial Gauge is used on the drive gears tooth to
measure the backlash to check if it is within the
acceptable allowed limits.
【Reference Level】0.10～0.15mm
Please adjust the settings while it is off.
③ Once fitted, turn the gear to see if it is lining up with
the red paint marked before.
Please adjust the settings while it is off.
〔Re-adjustment Methods〕
・When the Preload is set too high ： Make the side bearings adjustable washers thinner on both sides.
・When the Preload is set too low ：
Make the side bearings adjustable washers thicker on both sides.
・When the backlash is too much ：
Set the side bearing adjustable washers thicker on the left side
& thinner on the right side.
・When the back lash is not enough ： Set the side bearing adjustable washer thicker on the right side
thinner on the left side.
【Side Bearing Adjustable Washer】
・When the tooth bearing is bad・・・・You can fix it by changing the thickness on the pinion adjustable wash
