Follow the instructions in

Remove the battery pack (see

).


 

3.

Remove the base cover (see

Removing the Base Cover

).


 

4.

Remove the center control cover (see

Removing the Center Control Cover

).


 

5.

Remove the keyboard (see

Removing the Keyboard

).


 

6.

Remove the macro keyboard (see

).


 

7.

Remove the display assembly (see

).

Follow the instructions from

step 10

to

step 16

Removing the Palm Rest

9.

Loosen the four captive screws that secure the primary video-card heat-sink to the system board.

 

10.

Loosen the four captive screws that secure the secondary video-card heat-sink to the system board.

 

11.

Lift the video-card heat-sink(s) off the video card(s).

The video-card assembly may be very hot during normal operation. Ensure that it has had sufficient time to cool before you touch it.

To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal

To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see

Removing the Battery Pack

) before working inside the

computer.
