NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically
touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.
1. Follow the instructions in Preparing to Work Inside the Computer .
2. Loosen the three captive screws securing the microprocessor module cover, then remove the cover and set it
aside.

3. Loosen the four captive screws securing the microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly to the system board, then
carefully lift the assembly straight out of the computer.
