Liquid Fertilizer Rate

The YP825AR planter supports an optional liquid or dry
fertilizer system. Rate setting for the dry fertilizer system
begins on page 50.

Note: Great Plains recommends checking with your local

Agronomist as soil conditions vary. Soil conditions
in your area may need lesser or more amounts of
fertilizer than represented in these charts. For
in-furrow applications, do not exceed
12 gallons per acre or 112 liters per hectare in any
case.

Liquid Rate Setting Steps

1.

Determine application rate desired.

2.

Determine sprocket paring and pump adjuster
setting required to provide that rate. Use any of the
following resources:

Set Rate Range

3.

Check the current sprocket setup:

Low Range uses the 15T sprocket

as Driving, and

also as Driven

.

High Range uses the 47T sprocket

as Driving, and

the 15T sprocket

as Driven.

4.

To change Range, loosen the idler

, and remove

the pins on the sprocket shafts. Exchange sprockets
by selecting ones from the sprocket storage stob

.

Re-pin. Re-engage idler for

3

8

inch (9 mm) slack in

the lower chain span.

• use the web calculator on the CDS-John Blue web

site

www.cds-johnblue.com/flow-rate-calculator.shtml

The table on page 70 provides data required.

• use the pre-computed tables starting on page 71

• use the CDS-John Blue 112718-01 slide chart

provided with the pump. Use the sprocket ratios
and loaded radius shown in the table on page 77.
The values in this table have been adjusted to
ease use of the chart.
