Install SMV Reflector
The Small Seeds box obscures the original Slow Moving
Vehicle decal on the main seed box. Your kit includes a
new reflector to be mounted on the walkboard.
All pre-2008 drills, and some 2008 drills, do not already
have SMV mounting holes in the walkboard, and require
drilling.
Refer to Figure 33
116. Select one new:
133-070D 3000 SMV MOUNTING BLADE
117. If the walkboard already has SMV mounting holes,
skip to step 119.
118. Use the two end mounting holes in the blade to
mark holes to drill - center drill section, center of
rear face of walkboard
. Balance the vertical
position to place each hole the same distance from
the top and bottom edge of the walkboard. Drill
holes for 5/16-18in clearance, nominally an
11 ⁄
32
inch, letter size Q, or an 8.3 mm drill bit.
119. Select two sets new:
802-007C HHCS 5/16-18X3/4 GR5
804-009C WASHER LOCK SPRING 5/16 PLT
803-008C NUT HEX 5/16-18 PLT
Secure the blade to the walkboard with two
bolts , lock washers and nuts .
120. Select one new:
818-055C DECAL SLOW MOVING-GALV. BACKED
and two sets new:
802-004C HHCS 1/4-20X3/4 GR5
804-006C WASHER LOCK SPRING 1/4 PLT
803-006C NUT HEX 1/4-20 PLT
Secure the reflector to the blade with two
bolts , lock washers and nuts .
Install Wind Shields
Refer to Figure 34
121. For each row, select one new:
817-806C SMALL SEEDS CUP WIND SHIELD
Insert the bottom edge of the rear face of the
shield
into the funnel. Snap the ears into the
inside vertical grooves of the meter cup.
Closeout
122. See Operator Manual. Hitch and raise drill. Lower
the openers. Rotate gauge wheels. Check that all
drives and box meter shafts are rotating freely.
123. Close lids on all seed boxes.
124. See page 22. Set Small Seeds rate adjusters to 0 to
discourage pest entry.
125. Add this manual to the Manual Pak enclosure, or
replace the existing Seed Rate manual with an
updated manual.
126. Review the Operations section of this manual before
planting small seeds.
