in male NPT fittings. The
drill does not include couplers. See hydraulic diagram on
page 60.
12. Adapt the NPT fittings to the style and size of coupler
required to connect the drill to a hydraulic source for
system charging.
13. If fitting the final couplers for the tractor to be used
with this drill in the field, apply liquid sealant to the
threads before making the connections. Do not use
plastic tape sealant.
Charge Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system is typically shipped without hydrau-
lic fluid (due to the open hose ends). Due to the re-phas-
ing design of the system, it is not necessary to “crack”
and bleed fittings to perform a charge.
14. Disconnect the rod ends of all cylinders.
15. Block up or tie up the cylinders to elevate the rod end
above the base end.
16. Extend the hydraulic circuit to fully extend the cylin-
ders. Hold for 30 seconds.
17. Fully retract the cylinders.
18. Repeat step 16 and step 17 at least three times, until
all cylinder motion is synchronized, and all reach full
extension.
19. Set circuit to Float and re-connect the rod ends.
20. Extend the circuit to full lift position. If one or more
cylinders does not reach full extension, hold the cir-
cuit at extend for 30 seconds, retract, and repeat.
Check Level
21. With the drill raised, check side-to-side level. See
Set Hitch Height
22. See “Hitching Tractor to Drill” on page 14 and
“Adjust Hitch Height” on page 74.
Install Options
Some items are not factory-installed. These may include:
• Agitator (see installation manual).
• Carbide scrapers (page 76).
