Mac Pro or Power Mac
The PRO Mini features an Expansion Port; the Expansion Port allows for adding
storage capacity, and increased storage throughput, without requiring additional
Mac PCI-e slots. An additional PRO Mini is added by simply connecting the Host
Computer Port of the PRO Mini to the Expansion Port of the previous PRO Mini;
up to 3 units can be accessed from a single Mac PCIe card slot.
Each additional PRO Mini automatically appears as a separate device to the
Mac; simply adding a PRO Mini adds total storage capacity by automatically
providing an additional storage device.
To optionally add storage capacity, as a single device with increased write/read
transfer rate performance, the Mac Operating System’s Disk Utility is used to
STRIPE additional PRO Mini units together to operate as a single device.
