Restart Pumping Program
The following is an automated dispensing Program for a NE-1600/NE-1800 syringe pump equipped with a
‘Syringe Filled Sensor’ (part #ADPT-1) attached to the TTL I/O connector, and a valve system to refill the
syringe from a reservoir. It is also assumed that the ‘Power Failure’ mode is enabled.
After a power fail restart, the pusher block is in an unknown position, making it impossible for an automated
dispensing system to regain synchronization. With the Syringe Filled Sensor, the following Pumping Program
will automatically synchronize the dispensing system, and then continue with the normal dispense.
The first 2 Phases set an event trap for the Syringe Filled Sensor and refills the syringe until the sensor is
triggered. When the sensor triggers the event, the pump’s pusher block will be synchronized with the Pumping
Program. It is assumed that the sensor is positioned to refill the syringe with 60 mL. A withdraw volume of
61 mL is set as a safety feature.
After the syringe is refilled, one 5 mL dispense is made every 5 hours. After 12 dispenses, the syringe is
refilled using the sensor again.
