Tires
CAUTION
All machines are shipped with 15 x 10 LB, 8 Bolt Wheels
which require 12.5L - 15FI Ply rating F Tires. Inflate to 90
PSI. After several hours of use re-torque Wheel Bolts
90-100 Ft-Lbs.
Hydraulic System
Check the hydraulic lines and cylinders for leaks before
starting operation each day.
CAUTION
When the machine is not to be used for some time,
exposed portions of the cylinder rods should be cleaned
and covered with a thin coat of grease. This will prevent
corrosion which will damage cylinder seals.
Bleeding Hydraulic Cylinders
The first time the machine is connected to the tractor, or
any time the hydraulic circuit is opened, air must be bled
from the system. Care must be taken not to raise the
wings up over center before they have been run part way
up 7 or 8 times. The wings depend upon the passage of
oil through a flow restrictor to keep from free falling. If the
cylinder is not full of oil the wing will drop and may cause
damage to the machine.
Wings Unfolded
Bleed the system by removing the rod end pins from the
wing fold cylinders, loosening hose ties as needed, and
turning those cylinders so the rod ends are upward.
Then, fully extend and fully retract all cylinders 5 or 6
times or more, until all air is out of the circuit. Rod ends
may then be reconnected to the lift links. It takes
approximately 8-10 U.S. gallons of oil to fill the hydraulic
systems. Check your tractor oil level to avoid damage.
Wings Folded
Start unfolding the wings part way never past center and
then refolding the wings approximately 5 or 6 times or
more, until all air is out of the circuit.
NOTE
Never unfold the wings past center until all air is out of the
hydraulic circuit. As Free Falling may occur.
Transport Axle
Raise and lower the machine from field position to
transport position 2 to 3 times to insure proper
functioning of the Hydraulic Circuit.
This machine is hydraulically controlled by one circuit
which controls the lift of the machine and folding of the
wings.
The sequence for the hydraulic circuit is as follows:
To Transport Position:
1.
Machine raises on transport wheels.
2.
Wings fold
Use of smaller or lighter tires will cause
premature tire failure and may cause an accident.
Escaping fluid under pressure can be nearly
invisible and have enough force to penetrate the
skin causing serious injury. Use a piece of
cardboard, rather than hands to search for
suspected leaks. Wear protective gloves and
safety glasses or goggles when working with the
hydraulic system.
DANGER
BLEED THE AIR FROM WING LIFT CYLINDERS
BEFORE OPERATING. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL
ALLOW WINGS TO FREE-FALL AND MAY CAUSE
SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY. SEE OPERATORS
MANUAL FOR CORRECT PROCEDURE.
DANGER
FALLING WINGS CAN CAUSE INJURY
OR DEATH. STAND CLEAR WHEN WINGS
ARE BEING RAISED OR LOWERED.
