4. Click
Install. The Select network component type dialog box opens. Click Protocol and then click the
Add button. The Select network protocol dialog box opens.
5. In
the
Select network protocol dialog box, select the entry Microsoft TCP/IP and click OK. You may need
the installation CD of Windows
®
XP to set this up.
6. In
the
Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, double-click the entry Internet Protocol TCP/IP. The
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box opens.
7. In order to ensure that the EKS Electronic-Key adapter and the configuration computer are in the same
network, you must assign your configuration PC an IP address in the same subnet mask as the Electronic-
Key adapter . On delivery, the default IP of the Electronic-Key adapter is 192.168.1.1 and the subnet mask
is 255.255.255.0. This means that you can assign the configuration computer an arbitrary IP address
between 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.254. In this example, the configuration PC is assigned the IP address
192.168.1.2.
8. Click
the
OK button to confirm your inputs.
The EKS Electronic-Key adapter can now be configured via the integrated web interface as described in section
7.2.
