Step 3:
Unscrew the backplane metal from the rack. There is one screw in each upper-
corner on single height backplanes; one screw in the middle of each side, along
the rear edge for dual height backplanes. Discard these screws. Replacement
screws with thread locker are provided (ETC Part# HW377) and will be used
later.
Step 4:
Push the backplane towards the back of the rack to free the backplane side tabs.
Step 5:
Bend the sides in towards the center (out of the sides of the rack).
Step 6:
Slide the backplane forward so you can access the connectors.
Step 7:
Disconnect the power cable from the rear of the CEM+ backplane.
Step 8:
Disconnect the beacon connector from the rear of the CEM+ backplane.
Step 9:
Disconnect the dimmer output ribbon cables from the backplane. As you remove
the ribbon cables, mark them with a permanent marker to indicate the proper
order for reattachment (Dimmers 1-24, 25-48, and so on). There may be stickers
on the ribbon cables already, however these may refer to cable length and not
dimmer outputs. They should not be used as a reference to these instructions.
Step 10: (IEC Only) disconnect the brown and blue wires from the back of the female IEC
connector.
Step 11: (IEC Only) Using a 1/4” AF nut driver or small adjustable spanner, remove the
nut that secures the green/yellow earth wire from the PEM stud on the rear of the
backplane. Leave the earth wire connected to the rear of the female IEC
connector and save the nut, you will need to re-use them when attaching to the
new backplane.
Step 12: Pull one side forward to angle the backplane then remove the backplane
metalwork from the rack.
