·
Price – 7 symbols.
·
Barcode data – 12 symbols.
·

·
Current date – 8 symbols.
·
Item’s number (PLU)-4 symbols.
·
Second line of item’s description – 28 symbols.
·
Third line of item’s description - 28 symbols.
This is the ultimate total data number. The lines for the item’s description are an option to
be selected from the scales. The label must match the selection; otherwise the printer will
not print it.
We shall have an example that does not use the additional lines for item’s description.
We have then 9 variables. We must define 9 variables, no matter whether we shall need
all of them. We must also keep in mind the symbol limit in the scales – if we define a
variable with a shorter length, the printer will cut off the remaining symbols. If there will
be not enough space for the full length of the fields, we must edit them in the scales – for
example we can decrease the item’s name to 16 or 20 symbols.
We start with the label. Let us work with a label with size 56x25 ìì and DW-PRT24T
printer. The final result must be like this:
The label contains 9 text fields, one barcode and one graphic. From Label Setup we
choose:
·
Label size : 56/25 ìì
·
Width and Length will be automatically filled in.
·
Gap and Offset : 0. (Gap is not used when the paper media is label roll)
·
Date and Time format: DD-MN-Y2 and H:M. The data string will be Day–
Month–Year (the month represented by digits, and the year - only by the last two digits).
The time string will not contain the seconds.
·
Darkness: 8 and Speed : 50 mm/s.
·
Top and Left will have a 0 value, since label area is small.
·
Orientation: Top, Language : English
