Release 1.3.32, October 2009
Non-Address
Primary Key
Attribute
(Optional)
An LDAP attribute with a unique key other than an
email address.
This field is optional. If a user’s email address on your
LDAP server changes (for instance, because of a
name change), Google Apps Directory Sync will
rename the user in the message security service
without losing any quarantined mail or user settings.
You can use a binary or string attribute for the non-
address primary key.
Use an attribute that is populated for all users. If the
non-address primary key attribute is blank for any
users, the synchronization will fail with an error.
Note:
If you change your non-address primary key
attribute, the directory sync utility will detect the
change and revise the primary key for each user.
However, any users whose user names have changed
during the same sync will be deleted and created
again. If you plan to change your non-address primary
key setting, run an additional sync just before you do to
avoid any loss of data.
Example:
sAMAccountName
Mail List Attribute
An LDAP attribute that specifies the address of a
mailing list. The directory sync utility will use this
attribute to look up the email address for any mailing
lists detected with Mail List rules. For most servers, this
value will be the same as the Email Address attribute.
Example:
Alias Address
Attributes
(if needed)
One or more attributes used to hold alias addresses.
These addresses will be placed as aliases to the
primary address listed in the Email Address Attribute
field.
Example:
proxyAddresses
