Fuel Factors
Animportantconsiderationaffectingtheentireinstallationis
thetypeoffuelusedbyyourhomegenerator.Thesystem
wasfactorytestedandadjustedusingeithernaturalgas
orliquidpropane(LPvapor).Forproperenginefunction,
factorsthatareinherenttoeachofthesefuels,your
locationandthedurationofpossibleutilityinterruptionsare
importantconsiderationsinthefollowingfuelguidelines:
• Useclean,dryfuel,freeofmoistureorany
particulatematerial.Usingfuelsoutsidethefollowing
recommendedvaluesmaycauseperformanceproblems.
• Inenginessetuptorunonpropane(LP),commercial
gradeHD5propanewithaminimumfuelenergyof
500BTUs/ft3withmaximumpropylenecontentof
5%andbutaneandheaviergascontentof.5%and
minimumpropanecontentof90%.
WARNING
PropaneandNaturalGasareextremely
flammableandexplosive.
Fireorexplosioncancausesevereburnsor
death.
Thehomegeneratorisequippedwithanautomaticsafety
gas“fuelshut-off”valve.
DONOToperatetheequipmentifthe“fuelshut-off”valve
ismissingorinoperative.

Power Decrease at High Altitude or High Temperature
Airdensityislessathighaltitudes,resultinginlessavailable
enginepower.Specifically,enginepowerwilldecrease3.5%
foreach1,000feet(300meters)abovesealeveland1%for
each10°F(5.6°C)above77°F(5°C).Makesureyouand
yourinstallerconsiderthesefactorswhendeterminingtotal
generatorload.
Unpacking Precautions
Theunitisshippedboltedtoitsmountingpad,ready
forinstallation.Avoiddamagefromdropping,bumping,
collision,etc.Storeandunpackcartonwiththeproperside
up,asnotedontheshippingcarton.
CAUTION
Installingthe15Afusecouldcausetheengine
tostart.
Observethatthe15Ampfusehasbeenremovedfrom
thecontrolpanelforshipping.
DONOTinstallthisfuseuntilallplumbingandwiringhas
beencompletedandinspected.

Delivery Inspection
Afterremovingthecarton,carefullyinspectthehome
generatorforanydamagethatmayhaveoccurredduring
shipment.
IMPORTANT:Iflossordamageisnotedattimeofdelivery,
havetheperson(s)makingdeliverynotealldamageonthe
freightbillandaffixhissignatureundertheconsignor’s
memooflossordamage.Iflossordamageisnotedafter
delivery,separatethedamagedmaterialsandcontactthe
carrierforclaimprocedures.Missingordamagedpartsare
notwarranted.
