Charging the Battery
Ifitisnecessarytochargethebattery,proceedasfollows:
1. Setgenerator’ssystemswitchtoOFF.
. Remove15Ampfusefromcontrolpanel.
3. Disconnectnegativebatterycabletonegativebattery
terminal(indicatedbyNEGATIVE,NEG,or(-).
NOTICE
Failuretodisconnectnegativebatterycablewillresultin
equipmentfailure.
DONOTattempttojumpstartthebattery.
Damagetoequipmentresultingfromfailuretofollowthis
instructionwillvoidwarranty.

4. ChargebatterywithbatterychargeratAmpsuntil
batteryholds1Volts.
NOTE:DONOTexceed13.7Voltscharging.
WARNING
Storagebatteriesgiveoffexplosivehydrogen
gasduringrecharging.
Slightestsparkwillignitehydrogenandcause
explosion.
Batteryelectrolytefluidcontainsacidandis
extremelycaustic.
Contactwithbatterycontentswillcausesevere

gloves.
Removewatches,rings,orothermetalobjects.
Usetoolswithinsulatedhandles.

tothetransferswitch,thebatteryreceivesatricklecharge
whenevertheengineisnotrunning.Itmaytakeupto
7hourstofullychargeabatterywiththetricklecharge.
Thetricklechargeisnotabletorechargeabatterythatis
completelydischarged.
5. Connectnegativebatterycabletonegativebattery
terminal(indicatedbyNEGATIVE,NEG,or(-)).
6. Ensurehardwareonbothpositiveandnegativebattery
terminalsissecure.
7. Reinstall15Ampfuseincontrolpanel.
CAUTION
Installingthe15Afusecouldcausetheengine
tostart.
DONOTinstallthisfuseuntilallplumbingandwiringhas
beencompletedandinspected.

8. Setgenerator’ssystemswitchtoAUTO.
Servicing the Battery
Ifitisnecessarytoservicethebattery,proceedasfollows:
1. Remove“ControlPanel”accesscover.
. Setgenerator’ssystemswitchtoOFF.
3. Remove15Ampfusefromcontrolpanel.
4. Serviceorreplacebatteryasrequired.
NOTE:ReplaceONLYwithsametypebatteryasdescribedin
BatteryinInstallation.
5. Connectredbatterycabletobatterypositiveterminal
(indicatedbyPOSITIVE,POS,or(+)).
6. Connectnegativebatterycabletonegativebattery
terminal(indicatedbyNEGATIVE,NEG,or(-).
7. Ensurehardwareonbothpositiveandnegativebattery
terminalsissecure.
8. Reinstall15Ampfuseincontrolpanel.
9. Setgenerator’ssystemswitchtoAUTO.
10. Install“ControlPanel”accesscover.
11. Resetexercisetimer.SeeSetting Exercise Timer.
