PROGRAMMING
[Transmission speed setting]
To set the transmission speed, complete steps 1
through 13 on pages 66 to 68 and then follow the steps
below.

Select "TX SPEED" with the [
] or [
]
key.

Press the [OK] key.

Select the desired transmission speed
with the [
] or [
] key.

Press the [OK] key.

[International transmission mode setting]
To set the international transmission mode, complete
steps 1 through 13 on pages 66 to 68 and then follow
the steps below.

Select "INTERNATIONAL TX" with the
[
] or [
] key.

Press the [OK] key.

Select the desired mode with the [
]
or [
] key.

Press the [OK] key.

Set the transmission speed only when you
know what speed is most suitable, such as
when you are sending a fax to a foreign
country and telephone line conditions are
bad. If you do not know the line conditions,
do not change this setting.
If you select a speed other than 33,600 bps
(maximum speed), a checkmark will appear
next to "TX SPEED" when you return to the
option setting screen. This setting is not
effective for polling transmission.
To remove the checkmark and return the
transmission speed setting to "33,600 bps
(maximum speed)", press the
key.

Note
• When sending a fax to a foreign country,
telephone line conditions can sometimes
distort the fax or interrupt the transmission.
Selecting the right international transmission
mode can help alleviate these problems.
• If errors frequently occur when sending a
fax to a foreign country, try each of modes
1 to 3 and select the mode that enables
the best transmission.
If you select a setting other than "OFF", a
checkmark will appear next to
"INTERNATIONAL TX" when you return to
the option setting screen.
To remove the checkmark and return the
international transmission mode to "OFF",
press the
key.
