DISMANTLING (PUMP WITH PACKING)

WARNING
Prior to working on the pump, the power source
should be disconnected with lockout provisions so
the power cannot be re-energized to the motor.
Close isolating suction and discharge valves.
Failure to follow these instructions could result in
property damage, severe personal injury, or death.
(See exploded view on page 63.)
1.
Drain the pump by open ing vent plug (A, Fig. 18)
and re move drain plugs (B and C) on the suc tion
and dis charge noz zles.
2.
Re move all cas ing main joint cap screws
(2-904-1) and dow els (2-916-1). Re move ex ter nal
tub ing (0-952-0) if sup plied.
3.
In sert a screw driver or pry bar into the slots
be tween the up per and lower cas ing halves, and
sep a rate the halves, lift ing off the up per cas ing
half.
NOTE: Some casings have jacking screws.
