MAINTENANCE AND TESTING

M
AINTENANCE
The DMXPathfinder LR will require a minimal amount of ongoing
preventive maintenance to ensure a long, trouble-free life for the equipment.
Maintenance will consist primarily of periodic cleaning and inspection of the
distribution rack.
C
LEANING
Rack cleaning should be carried out once per year. Be certain that AC
power is turned off, then remove the Output Module front covers and, using
compressed air at no higher than 100 p.s.i., blow dust from the circuit boards
and fans. The plug-in cards may be withdrawn to permit cleaning but first ensure
that you have taken precautions to avoid electrostatic discharge damage.
Exterior rack surfaces may be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild household
spray cleaner. Do not spray any cleaner directly on the module surfaces, as
cleaning solutions will foul the XLR connectors and damage the module
faceplates. Instead, use a soft dry cloth to wipe away any foreign material.
I
NSPECTION
Annual inspections of major system components should be carried out,
preferably at the same time cleaning is done. Plug-in circuit boards should be
inspected for any signs of overheating, mainly in the opto-repeater I/O sections
of the output cards. Inspect the rear terminal area for loose wire connections
and retighten as necessary.

module during troubleshooting, it is best to replace the suspected defective
