SELECTING THE STORAGE MEDIA (SMX-F43/F44 only)
• You can record on the built-in memory or a memory card, so the desired storage media
needs to be selected before starting recording or playback.
• You can use SD and SDHC cards on your camcorder.
(Some cards are not compatible depending on a memory card manufacturer and memory
card type.)
• Before inserting or ejecting a memory card, turn the camcorder off.
Selecting the storage media
1. Press the MENU button Control joystick (/) “Settings.”

Move the Control joystick (/) to select “Storage Type,” then
press the OK button.
3.
Move the Control joystick (/) to select “Int. Memory” or
“Card,” then press the OK button.
• “Int. Memory” : When using the built-in memory.
• “Card” : When using a memory card.
4. Press the MENU button to exit.

Using the built-in memory (SMX-F43/F44 only)
• This camcorder has an embedded 8GB(SMX-F43 only) or 16GB(SMX-F44 only) memory.
Using a memory card (not supplied)
• This camcorder has a card slot for access to SD and SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity).
• You can use SD and SDHC cards on your camcorder.
- Some cards are not compatible depending on a memory card manufacturer and memory
card type.
• Never format the built-in memory or memory card using a PC.
• If you insert a memory card when the camcorder is on, the pop-up message will prompt you
automatically to select the storage type. (SMX-F43/F44 only)
• If there is no memory card inserted, only the built-in memory will be available. (SMX-F43/F44only)
• Do not eject a memory card while it is being used in the camcorder. The memory card and its data
may be damaged.
• Do not remove the power (battery pack or AC power adaptor) when using storage media to record,
playback, format, delete, etc. The storage media and its data may be damaged.
