This fixture is shipped knocked down (KD) to avoid breakage of the delicate Delft

pieces. Please make sure that the following parts are enclosed:

1.

A Delft column assembly

2.

5 pre-wired arms

3.

A canopy kit consisting of 3 feet of chain, hanging hardware, and
canopy

COLUMN ASSEMBLY

1.

Lay all the parts on a soft, dry cloth to avoid scratches and damage.

2.

Take the Delft column assembly apart starting at the bottom loop until you get

to the center body (this is where the arms will be attached). As you remove
the parts, set them down in the order they were removed. That way you will

know how to put the fixture back together.

3.

Assemble the arms to the center body. To do this, take the fixture wire and

ground wire out of the canopy kit. Push the fixture wire and ground wire
through the top loop of the fixture into the column and through the coupling.

Both the fixture wire and ground wire must be pulled through the coupling so

that they lead into the center body.

4.

Connect the copper ground wire to the ground terminal.

5.

Connect the fixture wire to the arm wires. The fixture wire (=lamp cord) has a

marked side and an unmarked side. The marked side of the wire is rough and
connects to the white (=neutral) wire coming out of the arms. The smooth side

connects to the black (=hot) wire coming out of the arms. We have supplied

wire nuts to make these connections. Please use a wire nut crimper to make

good and secure connections.

6.

Once the connections are made, push the wires back into the center body

and put the parts back on the fixture the way they came off the column. The

column assembly is now complete.

HANGING ASSEMBLY

1. Attach the chain to the top loop of the fixture and pull the wire through the chain.
2. Once the wire is pulled through the chain, attach the other side of the chain to the

screw collar loop and screw the fixture bar over the 1/4 IP threaded nipple.

Now the fixture is ready to be hung.

WIRING INTO THE OUTLET BOX

Connect the copper ground wire to the ground wire on the outlet box. The fixture wire

(=lamp cord) has a marked side which is rough, and an unmarked side which is smooth.
Holding your thumb over both sides of the wire, you can feel the rough and smooth part

of the wire.

The rough side of the wire connects to the white (neutral) wire in the outlet box. The
smooth side connects to the black (hot) wire in the outlet box.
