Do not mix LRDIMMs and RDIMMs.

UDIMMs are not supported on this server.

When multiple processors are installed, HP recommends installing the DIMMs in sequential
alphabetical order: 4A, 9B, 1C, 12D, and so on.

Advanced ECC population guidelines
For Advanced ECC mode configurations, observe the following guidelines:

Observe the general DIMM slot population guidelines.
•
DIMMs may be installed individually. HP recommends installing DIMMs in pairs.
Online spare population
For Online Spare memory mode configurations, observe the following guidelines:
•
Observe the general DIMM slot population guidelines.
•
Each channel must have a valid online spare configuration.
•
Each channel can have a different valid online spare configuration.
•
Each populated channel must have a spare rank:
o
A single dual-rank DIMM is not a valid configuration.
o
LRDIMMs are treated as dual-rank DIMMs.
Installing a DIMM
WARNING:
Use caution when installing or removing the processor memory drawer. The
processor memory drawer is very heavy when fully populated.
