4 Performing Compatible XRC Operations
This chapter introduces the XRC windows and it explains how to prepare your system and how to
perform XRC operations.

Starting Compatible XRC
When using the XP Remote Web Console computer and logging in to the XP24000/XP20000 Disk
Array storage system, the XP Remote Web Console main window appears. Use the XP Remote Web
Console main window to open the Compatible XRC window.
To open the Compatible XRC window:
1. Enter the URL of the SVP into the Internet browser to access the SVP.
2. Select the XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array storage system that you want to log in.
3. Enter the user ID and the password and then select OK. The XP Remote Web Console main
window appears.

In the XP Remote Web Console main window, select the Mainframe Connection button ( ), and
then select the XRC tab.
Note : When you display the XP Remote Web Console main window for the first time, the window
is in View mode. To perform HP Compatible XRC operations, you must ensure that the window
is in Modify mode. For detailed information about how to change the mode to modify, please
refer to the HP StorageWorks XP24000/XP20000 Remote Web Console User's Guide.

To end XRC operations, select the Close button ( ).
Using the Compatible XRC GUI
This section explains the windows that you use when performing XRC operations.
Compatible XRC Window
When you open the Compatible XRC window (see Figure 12 on page 32), the XRC option list is
displayed.
