Storage Mirroring data collection
By default, Storage Mirroring data is collected at the following frequencies:
If the values for a data point have not changed, then only the endtime field of the record will be updated
(as opposed to creating new entry). However, if there is a sizeable gap in which data collection was not
carried out, then a new entry will be created when collection resumes.
Configuring nodes
A node represents a Storage Mirroring server. The following rules apply to nodes:
• No two nodes can share the same name
• No node can share its name with an alias of another node
• All host node names and aliases must be in lowercase
Log Directory Location where the Storage Mirroring Reporting Center server and collector
processes are written to.
Server Log Level Verbosity level at which to write the log file for the controller, reporter, analysis
engine, and listener processes. The default value is Info . It is recommended that
you change this value only to assist with troubleshooting a problem. Changing
this value may affect the performance of the product.
To put a process into Debug mode, select Debug Low.
Collector Log Level Verbosity level at which to write the log file for the collector process. The Collector
gathers information from Storage Mirroring servers. It is recommended that you
change this value only to assist with troubleshooting a problem. Changing this
value may affect the performance of the product.

GUI Log Directory Directory to which to write the log file. The default value is a log folder in the
directory in which you installed Storage Mirroring Reporting Center (such as
C:\Program Files\StorageWorks\Storage Mirroring\SMRC
).
GUI Log Level Verbosity level at which to write the log file. The default value is Info .

Mail
Server
Identifies the server to use as the mail server. This value is used as the default for
emailing a report through File, Mail .
From Identity of message sender. This value is used as the default for emailing a report
through File, Mail .
Enable Email Alerts Selects whether to enable automatic email alerts.
To
Identifies email alert recipients.
Subject Default subject line for email alerts.
