Configuration
The PORTNAME of the tape drive is a combination of the high (H) and low (L)
numbers in the menu configuration.
For example, if the high (H) number is “500104F0” as shown in
page D-9, and low (L) number is “00481036” as shown in
page D-9. Then the PORTNAME of the tape drive would be 500104F000481036
with the high (H) number before the low (L) number.
12. In SCF, issue this command:
SCF> ADD TAPE $tape, SENDTO STORAGE, LOCATION (group, module,
slot), SAC sac-id, PORTNAME 64-bit-portname, LUN lun-id
Example:
SCF> ADD TAPE $TAPE1, SENDTO STORAGE, LOCATION (110,2,3), SAC
1, PORTNAME 500104F000481036, LUN 1
13. To start the tape drive on the server, issue this command in SCF:
SCF> START TAPE $tape
Example:
SCF> START TAPE $TAPE1
For complete details about the ADD and START commands, including command
syntax, see the SCF Reference Manual for the Storage Subsystem.
Note. The tape drive’s display panel can only display 10 characters at a time. The
PORTNAME is 16 characters long. The tape drive displays two numbers, a high (H) and a
low (L) number with each number displaying 8 characters of the PORTNAME.
