You can sort the Contact list by First name or Last name using Display

You can also view contact names as First name first or Last name first
using Display options
4. After you've made your selections, touch
Done
.
To change which groups are displayed
1. Open your
Contacts
application.
2. Press the
Menu Key
, then touch
Display options
.
3. Touch an account to open its list of available groups.
4. Touch each group whose contacts you want to view in your
Contacts
application, contact types with a checkmark will
appear in your contacts list.
This action only affects which contacts are displayed. Your
sync settings will not be affected.
5. Touch
Done
. A message is displayed while your changes are
made. If your change affects a great many contacts, this can
take a short while.
