READCENTER® Reading Data Management
System Requirements
NOTE: The specifications shown are to be used as a guideline. Some items relate more to requirements of the
Operating System rather than the READCENTER application, and they are subject to change. Follow any Operating
System vendor recommendations that exceed what is listed here.
GALAXY Fixed Network Reading — Standalone for 1,000 Maximum Transmitters
System Components
1. Server:
A server application requests or listens for meter readings from gateways.
2. Client:
A client application runs reports.
3. Database:
A database server application stores information.

1 GHz or higher

100 GB available for application data

Monitor:
17 inch or larger (1280 x 768 resolution minimum)

DVD-ROM for software installation

Wireless:
Wireless ability (if needed) for Trimble handheld communication

To ensure uninterrupted power, the computer may be plugged into a backup power supply.

For Technical Support, a WebEx Internet connection is recommended.

A dedicated computer is recommended and it must be running at all times.

Requires LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi or Cell Network ability.

A Public Static IP Address is required that allows two way TCP communication with gateways.

SQL Server 2008 R2 Express – included on DVD, 10GB maximum size

SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 – Standard or Enterprise – end user supplied and supported

Gateways=5K bytes each; Transmitters=1K bytes each; Readings=100 bytes each
