Prepare a File for READCENTER

It is important that each Reading Cycle is processed in the following order.

Start by creating a download file from the billing system.

Save/Clear Reads

NOTE: Skip this process if there are no accounts in the database.

This function saves the previous meter readings to the READCENTER history and/or clears the current readings before

beginning the new reading cycle. It prepares READCENTER to accept new updated information from the billing system.

Select Save/Clear Reads from the main menu listed under the Accounts heading.

Step 1 Select Accounts to apply options to by choosing a group, or select a range of route or account numbers. For more

information on setting up Account Groups, refer to "Account Groups" on page 37.

Step 2 Click View Selected Accounts to verify the chosen accounts. A field at the bottom of the screen shows the

number of accounts selected.

Step 3 Select the option that applies to what you want to do.

To save current meter readings to READCENTER history, click to check the option labeled Save to History.

Otherwise leave the box unchecked.

Prior to starting a new reading cycle, always clear the previous meter reading information by clicking to check

the option labeled Clear Previous Reads. This prepares READCENTER to accept new information from the

billing system.

Step 4 Click Apply Options. A message displays asking you to confirm your selections. When the process completes,

another message displays with the results.
