INTRODUCTION
The TC-5000 is a gradient thermal cycler, designed to accurately control the temperatures of samples
between 4°C and 99°C. It has many scientific applications including DNA amplification, PCR
1 , reverse
transcription and sequencing.
The TC-5000 is programmed via a touch screen LCD graphics display. The user is able to input various
programs and parameters, including:
• Specified temperatures in °C
• Times for which the sample is to be held at the specified temperature
• Heating and cooling rates between the specified temperatures in °C/sec
• Gradient of temperatures across the thermal cycling block
• Incremental time or temperature increases or decreases when a cycle is repeated
