The gradient on the TC-5000 can be set from 1 to 30°C across the temperature range 20 to 70°C.
Outside this range the accuracy of the different columns cannot be guaranteed. If a gradient greater
than 30°C or outside the temperature range is set then the software will automatically set it to the
maximum, 30°C or within the permitted range. If temperatures are set outside 20 to 70°C range then
the following error message is displayed:
Further information relating to the gradient function can be found on page 23. Use the to move
across the screen to set the time.

The next step enables one of the following to
be added to the program:
Segment: Enables the temperature, time and
heating rate to be inserted into the segment.
Additionally, a gradient across the block can
be added.
Number Cycles: Up to 99 cycles can be
added
Inc Dec: Allows increasing and decreasing
temperatures and times to be set. See page
37 for further details.
Pause: Adds a pause as a step. User
intervention will then be required before the
program can move on to the next step.
INSERTING A SEGMENT
Selecting "Segment" inserts a temperature
step of 94°C for 30s at the maximum ramp
rate.
If required change the temperature using the
numerical keypad. Then use the to move
across the screen to the gradient option
0°C.
