Use the
Text Messaging
panel to send and receive text messages
between this PC and a radio user selected in the
Subscribers
panel.
Initiating a Text Message
To initiate a text message, first click a Group
or Private subscriber in the
Subscribers
panel, type a message in the message box at
the bottom of the
Text
panel, and then click
the
Send
button.
Message Log
Sent Messages
For messages that have been sent, a line containing the time sent, originating user/subscriber and destination
user/subscriber will be
Blue
in color. Only messages pertaining to the selected subscriber will be
Blue
or
Red
in color.
All other messages that do not pertain to the selected subscriber will be
Gray
in color. The arrow separating the originator
from the destination indicates the direction of the message.
Received Messages
For messages that have been received, the line containing the time sent, originating user/subscriber and destination
user/subscriber will be
Red
in color. Only messages pertaining to the selected subscriber will be
Blue
or
Red
in color.
All other messages that do not pertain to the selected subscriber will be
Gray
in color. The arrow separating the originator
from the destination indicates the direction of the message.
Acknowledgements
When a private message is sent, the arrow separating the originator from the destination will fill in when an
acknowlegement is received from the destination radio. Group messages cannot be acknowledged, and therefore the
arrow will not be filled in.

The
Missed Calls
panel will display a list of incoming private calls that
have not been responded to from the Dispatcher with a return private call.
When a private call is made from the Dispatcher to a subscriber in this list,
the subscriber will be removed from the list.
Additional functions are available from this panel:
To cancel a missed call that is listed, select a subscriber
from the
Missed Calls
list and then click the Cancel
Missed Call button.
To play the last incoming audio from a subscriber, select a subscriber from the
Missed Calls
list and
then click the
Play Audio
button.
To return a private call to a subscriber, select the subscriber from the
Missed Calls
list and then click the
Call
button.
