DirtWorks 3-Point Hitch
Operating and Assembly Instructions
Wire Harness Installation and Use.
1. Locate main wire harness assembly package.
Package
Contents:
(1) Metal Plug receptacle bracket.
(1) Weather tight receptacle.
(1) Main Wiring harness with switch.
(1) Metal Switch plate and mounting hardware
Includes - (1) Rubber cushioned clamp with nut, washer and bolt.
(12) Nylon fasteners for securing wires.
2. Route wire harness through Switch bracket and click switch face plate into metal switch bracket. Feed wires with
Switch assembly down from the left handle bar location. It is advised to secure the Switch assembly to the left hand side
of the handle bars. Route wires through ATV body and frame away from any moving parts or heated engine compo-
nents. Route battery connection ends back to battery location.
3. Secure Switch Bracket to the handle bars in a location that will not interfere with normal operation of the controls,
brakes or throttle. The included hardware can be installed using the rubber cushioned clamp secured to a out of the way
location on left hand handlebars. Locate in a position not interfere with normal operation of vehicle controls. Secure with
provided hardware.
4. After locating Plug Receptacle remove the mounting nut on the back side of the receptacle and place over ends of
wires before inserting in the brackets or holes in the ATV Plastic. route Black and White wire through holes in bracket or
ATV body plastic. Cut any excess wire leaving an additional 6” of length before cutting. Strip outside wire insulation back
from ends 1” with wire stripper, be careful not to damage copper wires. On the receptacles loosen the wire lugs with a
Phillips screw driver. Loosen only lugs (1) and (2). Fold over exposed 1” wire to form a “U” in wire end a 1/2” long, Insert
exposed Black wire into Lug #(1), be sure not to insert any insulated wire into opening, tighten screw and pull on wire to
confirm solid contact and ensure tight connection. Next, Fold over White exposed 1” wire to form a “U” in wire end a 1/2”
long, Insert exposed White wire into Lug #(2), be sure not to insert any insulated wire into opening, tighten screw and
pull on wire to confirm solid contact and ensure tight connection. Insert Receptacle into bracket or hole in ATV plastic
and secure nut from back side. Make sure to put the arrow on receptacle at the top and rubber protector cap also on top.
Repeat this step on opposite end of ATV for the other receptacle.
5. Locate on your ATV, a location for the mounting of the receptacle at the rear of the ATV. Find a location easy to ac-
cess with limited exposure to abuse from trail riding and working conditions.
A. The receptacle is supplied with a metal mounting bracket to secure to the ATV. use the provided self tap
ping screws to secure to body plastic or metal frame locate within reach of the plug end of the “DirtWorks 3-
Point
Hitch”.
B. or, receptacles can be mounted by drilling a 1-1/8” hole into an area on the ATV plastic that will not interfere
with the operation of the ATV. Always check for electrical wires, fuel lines or possible conflict with moving parts.
6. Secure battery connections to the battery by placing the Black (-) Negative wire terminal to the (-) Negative side of the
battery. Secure the white (+) Positive wire terminal to the ( + ) Positive side of the battery.
7. Use the included Nylon fasteners to secure loose wires securely to the ATV frame or away from the engine or moving
parts.
8. After installation of the Wiring Harness, secure power cord from Hydraulic System on the “Whirlwind Hitch System”
and test for proper operation.
NOTE!
Use caution when operating the “DirtWorks 3-Point Hitch” for the first time, make sure there is not any part of the ATV or
the “Whirlwind Hitch System” that interfere with each other, or any parts that might bind or conflict with the normal opera-
tion of the ATV.
The wiring harness has an automatic circuit protection device that prevents damage to the ATV or it’s electrical system
in the event of a short circuit. If there is a short circuit or other wiring problem the automatic circuit protection device will
interrupt power until the problem has been corrected. The Circuit protector will restore power automatically.
