Step 9. This instruction is based on leaving the factory BOV fitted, as it is located inside the inner guard and is
difficult to remove. Instead we recommend leaving it installed and isolating it from the engine, as follows. Running
under and parallel to the SR20 Adaptor is the factory BOV return hose. You will need to remove this pipe and blank
off both ends. First take out the factory BOV return hose and cut a small length to make a blanking assembly. Fit a
25mm blanking plug into this small hose and fit it over the return pipe fitting in the intake. Secure the blanking
assembly with the supplied 32mm hose clamps, then tighten with a 7mm socket or screwdriver.
Step 10. Cut another small length of the factory BOV return hose and fit the other supplied blanking plug. Now fit
this over the lower hose fitting located next to the intercooler pipe. Secure the blanking assembly with the supplied
32mm hose clamps, tighten with a 7mm socket or screwdriver.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
The following points should be checked if you find that your engine is dipping below normal idle, stalling or if the BOV is functioning poorly. Please
note the following checks will cure 99% of problems experienced with fitting your BOV.
- Check that the O-ring on the base of the BOV is fitted correctly and is in good condition.
- Ensure that the BOV grub screws and lock-nuts are tightened on the adaptor.
- Ensure the 50-70mm hose clamp is tightened over the engine pipe and adaptor.
- Ensure the 50-70mm hose clamp is tightened over the intercooler pipe and adaptor.
- Check the 25mm Blanks are fitted in the plumb-back hose and secured with the 20-32mm hose clamps supplied.
- Re-adjust the setting of your BOV. Please refer to your BOV fitting instructions for further information.
