Abnormal grain flow can easily fall and bury
a person, suffocating them. DO NOT enter a
bin with abnormal grain flow.
Bridged grain can easily break loose and
bury a person, suffocating them. DO NOT
enter a bin with bridged grain.

shut down and lock out the power to all
devices before entering a bin.

If you must enter this bin:
1. Shut off and lock out all power.
2. Use safety harness and safety line.
3. Station another person outside the bin.
4. Avoid the center of the bin.
5. Wear proper breathing equipment
or respirator.
A. Shut down and lock out the unloading unit before
entering the bin.
If the bin is not equipped with intermediate wells, the
Commercial Sweep Auger may be placed in the bin
after all the grain has been removed that will gravity
flow through the center well.
The grain remaining should appear as in Figure
21. DO NOT enter a bin if the grain has bridged or
flowed abnormally out of the bin as shown in
Figure 19 or Figure 20. Suffocation can occur if
grain suddenly breaks loose, burying persons
who are inside the bin.
9. INSTALLATION & UNLOAD PROCEDURES
Failure to heed these warnings will
result in serious injury or death.
