4. Apply caulk to all holes, ensuring a tight seal.
Installing the Manway Cover
Installation of a manway cover is necessary if a manway hole is present.
Round manway cover details for bins 60 ft. and smaller.
1. Apply caulking to the underside of the moisture diverter (N), and install to the manway roof panel (L).
2. Install the hinge base (A) to the moisture diverter (N), and install three hex bolts (K) and nuts (H).
3. Install the handle gasket (F) handle (E) to the cover (G), and secure with two #10 long bolts (D) and
lock nuts (J).
4. Install the latch (I) to the handle (E), and install a hex bolt (C) and nut (H).
5. Install the hinge leaf (B) and manway assembly to the hinge base (A), and secure with two hex bolts
(K) and four nuts (H).
NOTE: When securing the hinge leaf (B), double nut each hex bolt (H).
6. Tighten hardware to the recommended torque specifications. See
Bolt Torque Specifications, page
.
7. Affix suffocation/flighting decals (not shown) to the underside of the manway cover.
NOTE: Suffocation/flighting decals replacement part numbers: English, DC-GBC-1A, and Spanish,
DC-GBC-1S.
8. Snap the manway seal strip (M) onto the lip of the manway hole.
9. Make the necessary adjustments to the handle (E) and latch (I), creating a tight seal.
