Using the Aastra 6739i

Message Waiting (MWI)
The Aastra 6739i can receive short messages.The OpenCom 1000 communications
system also has a configuration determining whether or not you are informed of
incoming e-mails.
You can configure a Message Waiting function key (see Web Configurator of the
OpenCom 1000 starting on page 20) which enables to read messages on the tele-
phone display. The function key blinks red when there are new messages.
1. Press the Message Waiting function key.
2. Use the navigation keys
to go to the desired entry.
3. To show detailed information on the entry selected, press the
softkey. The
text, date and time of the message is shown.
Further options:
– To call back the sender press the
softkey or pick up the handset.
– Press the Backspace softkey to delete the selected entry.
– Press the Tone -> on / Tone -> off softkey to switch on/off the acoustic
signalling of incoming messages.
Voicebox
The OpenCom 1000 communications system provides you with a voicebox which
serves as an “answering machine” if desired. To operate the voicebox, it is recom-
mended to configure a key with the function Voice mail (see Web Configurator of
the OpenCom 1000 starting on page 20). Activating or deactivating the voicebox
is done via call forwarding to a voicebox call number (please refer to Call For-
warding starting on page 15).
Any time there are new messages on your OpenVoice voicebox, the Aastra 6739i
display shows the symbol
(upper left) and below it the number of voicebox
messages received. The Voice mail softkey as well as the
voice mail key blink
red.
1. Press the “voice message” function key (Voice mail) or also the
voice mail
key.
The display shows the list of received messages.
