S-Register Descriptions
In most bit-mapped S-registers, the default bit value is 0. Non-0 default values are
followed by an asterisk. In some cases, default values are shown in the refence column
preceded by +. Some bits are reserved for factory use and should not be changed.
Basic S-Registers "ATSn=x"

Set the number of rings on which the modem will answer. 0 value disable

Define escape code character, default ‘+’ (43 dec.). A value of 128-255
disables the escape code

Define ASCII Backspace. A value of 128-255 disables the Backspace key’s
delete function

Set the number of seconds the modem waits before dialing if ‘X0’ or ‘X1’ is
selected. If a setting of ‘X2’ to ‘X7’ is selected, the modem will dial as soon
as it detects a dial tone. This register also sets the time-out interval for the “W”
dial modifier to wait for the dial tone. (See also S41b4)
