Focus: Finally, rotate the Focus Ring on the anamorphic
lens to fine-tune the optical focus. When finished,
hand-tighten the Focus Rotation Set Screw to lock the
lens in position.

Optimizing Lamp and
Lens Performance

Almost all VX-44d/-55d installation and calibration tasks can be accomplished using the
DHD Controller. However, there are some adjustments that can improve the overall
performance of the lamp and primary lens; these can only be done using the projector’s
internal menu system.

Navigating the Projector

Menus

There are several groups of related functions, with each group selectable from the Main
Menu. Press MENU on the built-in keypad (see Figure 2-3) to display this menu.

To select a sub-menu, press

or

to highlight the desired option, then press ENTER or

.

The corresponding function menu or pull-down list of further options will then appear.

You navigate the function menus in a similar manner: enter a menu option number for any
numbered option, or use the

and

keys to highlight the desired option, then press

ENTER. Extra long menus have a scroll bar on the right; use the arrow keys to access the
remainder of the menu. Locked items or items that do not pertain to the current action or
condition appear dimmed and cannot be selected.

When finished with a function menu, do one of the following:

• Press EXIT to return to the previous screen.

• Press MENU to leave the menu system and return to the presentation.

To set up the VX-44d/-55d for use with the DHD Controller, you will use the Installation
and Lamp Adjust menus.

1. If there is no signal present, all source-dependent adjustments

are disabled.

2. After 15 minutes of inactivity, the projector leaves the menu

system and returns to the presentation.
