Camera takes time to turn on
: Delete files or folders.
Shutter-release disabled
:
• Memory card is full or not inserted (

• Memory card is locked (SD cards only;

• CPU lens with aperture ring attached but aperture not locked at highest

Camera is slow to respond to shutter-release button

Photos are out of focus

• Rotate focus-mode selector to S or C (

• Camera unable to focus using autofocus: use manual focus or focus lock

Tripod selected in live view: camera will not focus when shutter-release
button is pressed halfway. Use AF-ON button (

Full range of shutter speeds not available
: Flash in use. Flash sync speed can be
selected using Custom Setting e1 (
Flash sync speed); when using
optional SB-900, SB-800, SB-600, or SB-R200 flash unit, choose
1/320 s
(Auto FP) or 1/250 s (Auto FP) for full range of shutter speeds (0 281).
Focus does not lock when shutter-release button is pressed halfway
: Camera is in
focus mode C: use AE-L/AF-L button to lock focus (

Can not select focus point

• Unlock focus selector lock (
