Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
Periodic cleaning of the printer is recommended, depending on the
environment in which the printer is used. You should clean the printer:
• At least once a month
• When the printer experiences frequent media jams
• When print quality starts to deteriorate
To clean the outside of the printer:
1 Turn the power OFF.
2 Clean all the covers with a soft cloth, using any mild
commercial cleaner.
CAUTION:
• Do not use benzine, thinner, aerosol cleaners, or any abrasive powder.
NOTE:
• When using isopropyl alcohol with a lint-free cloth, make sure that the
alcohol is at least 90% pure, obtainable from your local pharmacy. (Do not
use rubbing alcohol; it can damage the printer.)
To clean the paper-pick rollers:
1 Slide the media tray out (you do not have to remove it) to
allow access to the paper-pick rollers.
