You can change the auto focus area.
AF Mode

Press the 3 button in A mode.
The [A Rec. Mode] menu appears.

Use the four-way controller (23) to select [AF Mode].

A pull-down menu appears.

to change the setting.

Press the 4 button.
The AF Mode setting is saved.

Press the 3 button.
The camera returns to capture status with the current setting.
Selecting the Auto Focus Mode (AF Mode)
J Multiple The camera focuses on the standard auto focus area.
K Spot The camera focuses on the smaller auto focus area.
Continuous
The camera keeps focusing on the subject within the auto
focus area.
In d mode, (Continuous) cannot be selected.
In b and modes, AF Mode is fixed at J (Multiple).
