Disc will not play.
The picture is distorted
or black and white during
playback.
There is picture or sound
interference with the TV
reception.

Unable to play DivX
movies.
– Insert the disc with the label facing up.
– The child lock is on. See ‘System Menu Options -
Playback settings - Child lock’ for details.
– Wrong region code. Check the rear or bottom of the
DVD recorder for the supported region code.
– There is no recording on the disc or wrong disc type.
See ‘Playback from Disc - Playable discs’ for details.
– Make sure the disc is not scratched or warped.
– The disc does not match with the TV colour system
standard (PAL/NTSC).
– The disc is dirty. Clean the disc.
– Sometimes a small amount of picture distortion may
appear. This is not a malfunction.
– Check that the antenna cable is plugged in fi rmly.
– Fine-tune your TV channel. See ‘System Menu Options -
Analogue Tuner settings - Manual install - Finetune’ for
details.
– Do not connect any cables from this recorder to the
‘Phono’ input of your amplifi er.
– If you are playing a DTS CD, connect COAXIAL or
OPTICAL-DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT socket on this
recorder to a Hi-Fi system or amplifi er. If the Hi-Fi
system or amplifi er does not support DTS, distorted
sound might occur.
– If this unit is connected to the TV through the HDMI
connection, there may be no surround sound on Coaxial/
Optical output, depending on the TVs audio capabilities.
In this case, press OPTIONS on the remote control, go
to Audio Output setting and set the { HDMI audio } to
{ Disable }.
– This unit only supports pictures in JPEG-Exif fi le format,
using 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, with a
resolution not exceeding 4096 x 4096 (horizontal/
vertical). JPEG pictures that downloaded from the
internet or have been modifi ed using computer may not
be able to display properly.
– Ensure that the DivX fi le is encoded according to the
‘Home Theatre Profi le’ with the DivX encoder.
– Check that the DivX movie downloaded is a complete
fi le.
